Actually, we should be busy renovating the base and the boat, as we have been doing every spring for years.
This year everything is different: The measures against the new virus Sars-CoV-2 are drastic and affect all of us.

With this blog we want to keep you up to date about our situation.
The most important thing first: We, that is Maria, Thomas, Anja and Stefan, are in Tamariu and ALL HEALTHY.
Nevertheless, there is no current group photo at this point ;-)

We have been here since the middle of February, with a two-week break for a holiday on the small Canary Island El Hierro. (picture left)
After our return on March 11th it was already clear that Covid 19 had arrived in Spain in the meantime, at that time Madrid was particularly affected.

When shopping in Palafrugell, the uncertainty of the people was measured by empty toilet paper pallets.

Why of all things toilet paper, is still a mystery to me, even if meanwhile delicious recipes for pasta with toilet paper are circulating in the social media ;-)

Last weekend, things sped up:
While Tom and I were still eagerly following the news from our home country Austria, Spain declared a state of alert on Saturday, March 14th with Royal Decree 463/2020 - for the time being for a period of 15 days.

On the one hand, this restricts the "free movement of persons" - a de facto confinement, except for necessary purchases, visits to the doctor, assistance and necessary career paths.

On the other hand, it also orders the closure of all types of establishments to the public - with the exception of shops providing basic services.

This means that Stollis Diving Center will also remain closed until further notice.

Meanwhile the numbers are increasing every day, not only in Spain, but in the whole of Europe and worldwide.
When we look at the bay here in Tamariu, it is hard to believe - everything seems so peaceful, the sun is shining, there is only one cloud over Tamariu...

Also the necessary shopping is no problem.
Although the number of customers in the shop is limited, the waiting times are shorter than before at the cash desk - and all necessary food is available.

In short: We are doing well!

We hope that the measures will achieve the desired flattening of the infection curve in Europe and worldwide and contribute to this by staying at home.

And as soon as normality is restored, we will be on the ground and ready to start again with new strength :-D

Stay healthy and see you soon,
Maria
